Are the UK's New Constipation Guidelines Helpful?
Kiwis, huh?
That’s what the UK now wants you to believe will beat your inability to poop.
So, let’s take a look at the data they’re basing this on:
Note that in the line for kiwifruit, it shows an increase in stool frequency, but no change in the other parameters they checked for.
Rye, also in the new guidelines, actually worsens overall symptoms.
High mineral content water merely shows an global response, yet no impact on any of the other factors that were measured.
Of course, it’s still endorsed for this purpose.
By contrast, magnesium oxide appears to win out in every category they investigated.
Chances are researchers don’t recommend it is because it also is associated with abdominal distress and bloating.
If they truly understood what constipation is, they’d realize that this is powerful indicator of a deeper sweeping of the gut wall.
Magnesium works by relaxing the bowels which loosens hardened stool, while the oxygen (oxide) kills parasites and helps break down the wall of yeast so it can be excreted.
👽 Do they really think it wouldn’t feel uncomfortable to peel those Cling-ons from the gut wall?
🤰🏽Do they not know that much of the bloating is caused by gas that has been trapped there since time immemorial?
The only problem I have found with the compound (other than being an artificially manufactured isolated nutrient) is that for someone who is severely constipated, the results fizzle out after a few days or weeks of regular use.
Kiwis now join the pantheon of constipation solution gods, alongside whole grains, broccoli/kale, unlimited amounts of water, exhausting exercise, Activia®️, and everything mentioned in the chart above.
How long do you think until people realize that kiwis aren’t going to be the long-term solution they hoped for?
If kiwis do work, what happens when exports of kiwis into England stops?
Will small-scale local gardeners fill the void?
Currently, it seems there’s no commercial-scale growing, so it could be a nice opportunity, if someone wants to do that work.
In the meantime, if you’re ready to stop chasing your tail, subscribe to get access to get a free advance copy (hopefully ready in November 2025) of my upcoming book on how to kick constipation to the curb for good!
The book details my full list (to date) of free or low cost, high return strategies for pooping on demand.
Have you tried kiwifruit for constipation or other digestive disorders?
What say you?
